Moon Sweepers calculator: profit and upgrade payback
Calculate Moon Sweepers sales per hour and upgrade payback from your deliveries. Compare raw dust, Moon Sand and Moonstone.
How much money does your cleanup earn?
Enter one complete delivery below. Include sweeping, travel, unloading and any waiting time. Select the material actually sold, then compare a payout upgrade if you are planning a purchase. The result is gross sales, with upgrade payback calculated from the extra income that purchase adds.
Recipes and prices: patch 1.0.4.

Gross sales only. Collection rate stays constant. Setup costs, region rewards and exploration cash are excluded. Use the full crew delivery once; do not multiply it again by player count.
For machinery counts and belt planning, use the production-line ratio calculator. The upgrade list helps choose a purchase, and the auto-selling instructions help get your material to the intake.
How should you measure an automated factory?
Let material reach the station intake, then time a representative period of sales. Enter the weight actually sold during that interval and include pauses caused by low supply, power loss or blocked outputs. For Moonstone, multiply the number of delivered blocks by 2 kg before entering the weight.
The ratio calculator gives theoretical recipe output. This calculator uses completed sales to estimate earnings at your measured rate. An idle press or a backed-up merger can lower that rate even in a balanced 2:5 line. Check both ingredient feeds and the output route when deliveries fall short.
If you also want to measure belt capacity, test with a continuous supply of items and a clear intake. A belt waiting for upstream production only shows the current factory throughput.
Which prices does the calculator use?
The calculator uses the patch 1.0.4 base sale values below.
| Material | Base value per kg | Weight represented by one full sale item | Base value per item |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lunar dust | $1 | 1 kg | $1 |
| Moon Sand | $3 | 1 kg | $3 |
| Moonstone | $7 | 2 kg | $14 |
Enter weight, rather than the number of items, in the calculator. Ten Moonstone blocks represent 20 kg. The Stone Press recipe combines 1 kg of raw dust and 1 kg of sand to make each 2 kg block.
The Market Contracts I preset compares no payout upgrades with $120 for +6%. Custom mode accepts your current total bonus, the extra percentage points the next purchase adds, and its cost. For example, moving from an existing 6% bonus to 12% adds 6 percentage points, rather than another 12% on the already boosted payout.
How are income and upgrade payback calculated?
- Kilograms per hour = delivered kg ÷ loop minutes × 60.
- Base sales per hour = kilograms per hour × base price per kg.
- Current sales = base sales × (1 + current bonus ÷ 100).
- Extra sales = base sales × additional bonus ÷ 100.
- Payback minutes = upgrade cost ÷ extra hourly sales × 60.
As a planning example, selling 100 kg of raw dust in 10 minutes gives $600 per hour before bonuses. Market Contracts I adds $36 per hour, so its $120 purchase takes 200 minutes of that same selling rate to recover.
A zero sales rate or zero additional bonus gives no payback. A wider brush, a larger hopper or a faster vehicle can change your collection rate, so their benefits need a timed delivery after the change. A width percentage alone is insufficient to predict hourly earnings.
Should you process every load into Moonstone?
Moonstone has the highest sale value per kilogram, while sand needs a simpler chain. Compare completed deliveries: machinery can earn less per hour when power, ingredient supply or belts limit it. Use the money guide for the progression route and the factory layouts to plan processors before buying them.
Region completion rewards, flags, survey rewards and construction spending are outside the sales calculation. For a crew, enter the whole crew’s delivery once. Shared upgrades already benefit the crew; multiplying the result by player count again would overstate income.
