What did 1.0.3 change?

Condensed from the official announcement:

Saves

  • Heavily cleaned bases that looked corrupted load again
  • Damaged saves repair automatically from backup/snapshot on load
  • Saves are checked before replacing the previous file

Multiplayer

  • Shared upgrades via the host upgrade matrix; anyone’s purchase upgrades everyone
  • Host kick / ban / unban under ESC → Your Crew
  • Crew-built splitters and mergers work
  • All players must be on 1.0.3 to play together

Performance & building

  • Studio-claimed higher frame rates on big bases; smoother driving and teleports
  • Horizon culling for ground behind the Moon
  • Splitter/merger snapping; belt capsule placement; multi-foundation machines
  • Deposit intake pays exactly what the screen shows

Vehicles

  • Any garage can recall/store/upgrade vehicles
  • Demolishing a garage no longer deletes stored vehicles

What did 1.0.4 change?

  • Improved Moon Map with waypoints and robot filters
  • Teleport Panel between discovered stations
  • Suit HUD icons; helmet lamp upgrades moved to the supply wall
  • Capsule Catcher capacity 100 kg with visible dust in glass

J.O.O.N.A.S.

  • Launches capsules from the field to the nearest catcher
  • Faster hex cleaning; smarter pathing; works with no nearby players
  • Full-bin warning and sector tracking UI

Saving & backups

  • Much faster saving/quitting on large bases
  • Up to 5 automatic backups per save slot (session + every 30 minutes)
  • Backup folder: AppData\LocalLow\DragDropGames\MoonSweepers\Backups
  • Automatic repair after damage/crashes
  • Saves made in 1.0.4 cannot open in older versions

Multiplayer & fixes

  • Shared cleaned-ground sync (including robot trails)
  • Shared belt building for splitters/mergers
  • AMD defaulting to DirectX 11; optional -force-d3d12
  • Steam Deck / older Proton startup fix
  • Long list of machine, foundation, map, and vehicle bug fixes

Developer context between the patches

The October 24 “Message From the Developers” apologized for launch instability, confirmed a two-person team, and listed shared upgrades, performance, saves, host moderation, and belt fixes as already shipping, with J.O.O.N.A.S. idle behavior called out as a near-term priority — matching what 1.0.4 emphasized the next day.

Machine prices and Catcher capacity cross-checks for builders live in the data hub, Capsule Catcher, and J.O.O.N.A.S. pages.
