Moon Sweepers J.O.O.N.A.S.: price & 1.0.4 behavior

J.O.O.N.A.S. costs $20,000, needs a Capsule Catcher, and was reworked in patch 1.0.4 to keep cleaning without constant dock returns.

Identity and price

Sportskeeda expands the acronym as Just One Overpriced Nonessential Automated Sweeper. Purchase price $20,000 is multi-source across KeenGamer, Sportskeeda (walkthrough + dedicated Joonas article), and whisperofthehouse.

Hub: data hub. Catcher companion: Capsule Catcher.

Official 1.0.4 behavior (primary)

From the DragDrop Games 1.0.4 announcement:

  • No mandatory dock trip for every capsule — cleans a sector and launches to the nearest catcher while continuing.
  • About 2× faster cleaning (hex-by-hex from the outside in).
  • Smarter navigation around buildings; skips unreachable hexes.
  • Always working, even when no players are nearby.
  • Bin indicator flashes red when full; sector tracking shows the current work area.

The October 24 developer message had listed “J.O.O.N.A.S units stopping when players move away” as a top priority — context for why 1.0.4’s “always working” line matters.

Guide-agreed operational facts

Fact Confidence
Six cleaning arms Multi-source
Moves between dirty hexes (not limited to Mk I/II dock rings) Multi-source
Requires Capsule Catcher for continuous unload ($1,500) Multi-source
Without a catcher, fills up and waits / stalls the unattended cycle Multi-source
Suggested first budget ≈ $21,500 before extra belts Multi-source
Buy after logistics can process large dust volumes Multi-source advice

Unverified / caution

  • Hexes cleaned per hour — whisperofthehouse explicitly says short observations do not establish a reliable rate; we do not invent one.
  • Linear scaling of multiple J.O.O.N.A.S. units — guides warn travel, targeting and factory bottlenecks may break simple multiplication.
  • Exact Services-menu click path may differ by UI language; Sportskeeda describes Services → purchase → Build menu place — treat UI steps as single-article wording.

Practical setup checklist

  1. Confirm belts, power and preferably sand/stone processing can absorb more dust (factory ratios).
  2. Place/buy Capsule Catcher with an outbound conveyor.
  3. Purchase and deploy J.O.O.N.A.S.; watch one launch → catch → belt → payout cycle.
  4. Use the improved Moon Map (official 1.0.4) to track robot activity.
