FAQ

What does the Packager do in Moon Sweepers?
It unloads dust from a handheld cleaning tool, packs that dust into capsules and feeds them to a connected conveyor.
Do you need a Packager to auto sell?
No. You can place carried capsules on a belt connected to a station intake. The Packager makes repeated handheld unloading easier.
Is the Packager the same as Auto-Packer?
No. Auto-Packer creates a capsule at your feet when a tool fills; the Packager is a building that unloads your tool into a conveyor route.

What does the Packager do in Moon Sweepers?

Packager

The Packager takes dust from your handheld cleaning tool and sends packed capsules onto a conveyor. It costs $100 as of patch 1.0.4.

Think of it as the handoff between sweeping and logistics. You still collect the dust yourself; the Packager removes the repeated walk to a manual depot and feeds the belt route you built.

How much dust can a Packager hold?

Specification Value
Internal dust storage 100 kg
Maximum outgoing capsule 1 kg

Stored dust still needs room on the outgoing belt. Follow a queue to its destination before adding more collection capacity.

How do you set up a Packager?

Use this simple route:

hand tool → Packager → conveyor → station intake

  1. Place the Packager near the area you are cleaning.
  2. Face its output toward the route you want to build.
  3. Connect a conveyor from that output to an orange-ringed intake on the outside of a station.
  4. Sweep until your tool holds dust.
  5. Use the Packager’s load interaction.
  6. Follow the first capsule and make sure it reaches the intake and pays you.

Test with a short belt before extending the line. If the capsule stops outside the station, the final conveyor section probably ends beside the intake instead of entering it.

What does the Packager not do?

The Packager does not:

  • vacuum dust from the ground;
  • make dust more valuable;
  • sell material without a route to a station;
  • unload vehicles;
  • receive J.O.O.N.A.S. launches.

Use a Garage for vehicle unloading and a Capsule Catcher for J.O.O.N.A.S. deliveries. To raise sale value, send dust through a Pressure Chamber or a Moonstone line before the station.

Do you need one for automatic selling?

No. Since patch 1.0.3, you can put a carried capsule directly onto a conveyor where you aim. If that belt reaches a station intake, it will sell.

The Packager earns its place when you are sweeping by hand and want a convenient unloading point near the work area. It saves handling, not money per kilogram.

Packager or Auto-Packer?

The names are easy to mix up:

Equipment What it does
Packager Building that unloads handheld dust into a conveyor route
Auto-Packer Tool upgrade that creates a capsule at your feet when storage fills

Auto-Packer still leaves you with a capsule to carry or place. The Packager connects your hand tool directly to the belt network when you interact with it.

Why is the Packager empty or not sending capsules?

Check the problem from collection to sale:

  • Nothing loads: collect dust first, then use the load interaction.
  • Capsule has nowhere to go: connect the output to a belt.
  • Capsule moves the wrong way: rebuild the reversed conveyor section.
  • Capsule waits at the station wall: extend the belt into the intake.
  • Packing fails in a large base: update to 1.0.5, which fixed capsule packing failures around large capsule counts.
